Fall Things to Do in West Chester Ohio This 2026 Season

The first week of August in West Chester still reads as summer. The Voice of America MetroPark is being staged for a four-day country festival, the Thursday night crowd is still moving through The Square @ Union Centre, and the Keehner Park lawn belongs to picnic blankets. But the fall arc is already loaded, and if you live here you can feel the schedule tightening.

What follows is not a roundup. It is a map. The six weeks between the end of the VOA festival and the last weekend of October pivot across three specific anchor sites, and once you know which anchor owns which weekend, you stop double-booking yourself.

Three anchors carry the season

• Voice of America MetroPark closes summer with the last big open-lawn event.
• Olde West Chester and Keehner Park own mid-September through the first weekend of October.
• Muhlhauser Barn and Liberty Center carry the Halloween tail.

Almost every fall weekend in 45069 orbits one of those three. The farms in Liberty Township and Trenton run in parallel to all of it, on their own six-week rhythm. Plan against the anchors first, then slot the farms into open weekends.

The last summer weekend belongs to VOA

The VOA Country Music Fest is a four-day event held August 6 through 9, 2026 at Voice of America MetroPark on the site of the VOA Museum, and it is the last time this year the park will hold a crowd of that size. If you live inside the Beckett Ridge or Union Centre radius, plan for Butler-Warren traffic to thicken from Thursday afternoon through Sunday evening. If you are not going to the festival, the practical move is to treat that weekend as an inside-the-neighborhood weekend and let the county roads breathe.

After the festival wraps, the park slides back into its shoulder mode. VOA MetroPark does not host another headline event on the fall calendar. That is what makes the September pivot legible: the gravity actually moves.

September pivots to Olde West Chester

The center of the fall map shifts about two miles west. A Founder's Day Celebration will be held Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Olde West Chester, with food trucks, beer sales, and a street fair atmosphere at the West Chester Presbyterian Church, 8930 Cincinnati Dayton Road, hosted by the West Chester-Union Township Historical Society and the Olde West Chester Business Association.

Two things make this date worth building a Saturday around. The first is that Olde West Chester is a stretch of Cincinnati Dayton Road most residents drive through without stopping. Founder's Day is the one day a year the district actually functions as a walkable block. The second is scheduling: it is the same weekend as the Finds on the Farm Fall Craft Show at Niederman Family Farm, 5110 LeSourdsville West Chester Road, Sept. 19–20, 2026, a free outdoor show with over 75 vendors. Founder's Day in the morning, craft show in the afternoon, and you are home by dinner without having crossed I-75 twice.

The first Saturday in October is Keehner Park

On October 3, 2026, the Great Pumpkin Fest returns to Keehner Park as a free, family-friendly fall festival. Activities typically include a puppet show, a petting zoo, a costume contest, a hay bale maze, the Not-So-Scary haunted trail, games and crafts, and children are encouraged to wear a costume and bring a bag or basket to collect candy.

This one is the anchor for families with kids under about ten. It is also the day the Keehner parking lot fills earliest in the entire year, so arrival time matters more than usual. Residents who live within walking distance of the park have a real advantage here, and the ones who do not usually park along the residential streets north of the entrance and walk in.

The corn mazes are not interchangeable

Two farms inside a fifteen-minute drive run the fall festival circuit, and locals sometimes treat them as substitutes. They are not.

Niederman Family Farm sits at 5110 LeSourdsville West Chester Road in Liberty Township and is known for a 14-acre corn maze and cinnamon-sugar donuts. There is a pumpkin patch, pig races, a giant jumping pillow, and a climbing web. The 2026 corn maze design is a tribute to the very first maze planted 25 years ago and a celebration of America's 250th birthday. The 25-year design detail matters if you have kids who have already done the maze before. It is not a rerun of last year.

Barn-N-Bunk, in Trenton at 3677 Wayne Madison Road, runs its Fall Festival Weekends Saturdays and Sundays September 26 through October 25, 2026, and is known for its painted silos, hayrides, a corn maze, a pumpkin patch, duck races, face painting, and mini train rides, with a different specialty event each weekend such as wood carving, helicopter rides, and a costume contest.

The functional difference: Niederman is the destination if you want one long afternoon in one place. Barn-N-Bunk is the destination if you want a reason to come back four weekends in a row, because the specialty programming rotates. Households with older kids who get bored of the same setup tend to gravitate to Barn-N-Bunk. Younger kids and one-and-done visitors do better at Niederman.

Late October moves indoors

By the third week of October the outdoor calendar quiets and the season pivots toward two indoor anchors.

The first is the Muhlhauser Barn on Beckett Road. The West Chester Symphony Orchestra performs a fun, not-so-spooky concert at the Muhlhauser Barn to start the Halloween season, and attendees are invited to wear a costume; the event is free. The specific date rotates from year to year — the 2025 edition ran Thursday, October 30 at 7:00 p.m. at Muhlhauser Barn, 8558 Beckett Road — so watch the symphony's calendar as October fills in. The barn itself is a seasonal facility open each year from April 1 to November 15, and this concert is one of the last public events inside it before it closes for winter.

The second anchor is Liberty Center. Liberty Center's Monster Mash features store-to-store trick-or-treating, crafts with the Fitton Center for Creative Arts, a spooky animal exhibit with MetroParks of Butler County, and live music. Households with kids under six often prefer this to a neighborhood trick-or-treat night because the sidewalks are flat, the storefronts are covered, and the walking distances are short.

For older kids and adults, the Kings Island Halloween Haunt is a ten-minute drive up I-71 and the third leg of the late-October indoor-adjacent pivot.

The planning rule: pick your anchor first, then let everything else fit around it. Trying to do Founder's Day, the Great Pumpkin Fest, both farms, the Spooktacular, and Monster Mash in one October is how residents end the month tired instead of full.

A weekend-by-weekend read

The pattern is that the map contracts as the season moves. August is a single point at VOA. September opens to two poles, Olde West Chester and Liberty Township. October fans out to four active sites at once, and then collapses inward again toward Muhlhauser Barn and Liberty Center by Halloween.
